Dobro's are notorius for their extremely warped necks. This unfortunately designates the Dobro as a "slide only" instrument.I developed this technique to increase the strength and stabilize the neck joint. This helps keep the fingerboard straight and holds the neck at the angle needed for balanced playability for both slide and fingerstyle.

In the photos, I show the instrument being dismantled and then reassembled using the bolt-on technique I developed for increasing the strength of the neck joint. In the process of doing this modification, some clamping is done to repair the delaminating sound chamber.
