Rauen Guitars was founded in 1982 by luthier Denny Rauen. The shop specializes in restoration, repair and modification of new and vintage, acoustic and electric guitars, basses, harpguitars, mandolins and banjos. Instrument set ups, refretting, custom bridge and saddle work, neck set up, neck resets, and custom pickup installation represent just a few of our extensive services.
Our clientele includes many top musicians and collectors from across the nation. In 1988, Guitar Player Magazine featured Denny as one of the nation's finest luthiers.
The business has grown dramatically and in 2000, we relocated to the present home of Rauen Guitars in the historic Riverwest area of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Click here for a Google Map of our location. The shop, now with over 5000 sq.ft. makes it one of the largest facilities in the country dedicated to restoration, repair and custom building of stringed instruments.
To better serve our clients, Rauen Guitars prefers to operate by appointment. We like to assess instruments on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 am till 5:00 pm CST and most Fridays from 10:00 am till 2:00 pm CST.
